What we'll do
Come explore the beautiful remote Westfjords. Here, you'll experience a peaceful and adventurous escape into nature. You find unspoiled beauty, plunging cliffs, endless lush landscapes, and tons of wildlife. The region is home to an active Arctic Fox population.
On this expedition with Isley Reust (@isleyreust), you will embark on a 6 day, 5 night road trip adventure around the Westfjords, where you'll be Take a boat to Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, hiking along 500-meter sea cliffs, and getting up close to an abundance of wildlife that you won’t see anywhere else in Iceland. You will feel like you are in another world in this remote wilderness. While hiking and exploring, you'll learn how to capture photos you'll love (all skill levels -- beginner to pro -- are welcome!) as well as learn about local culture and wildlife.

DAY 1: Arrival Meeting day - Stay in Isafjordur

This day we will meet up, get checked into our hotel and we will go over the plan for the next week together. - This will be a light day. Explore and take some photos

DAY 2: Hornstrandir
- Summary
On this day we will take a boat to Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. We will hike along Hornbjarg cliffs, photograph arctic foxes, you will get a chance to see millions of birds on the cliff walls and more.

DAY 3: Drangajokull
- Summary
We will visit the Westfjords only glacier Drangajokull. Here you will get to see the glacial rivers that flow into the fjord as well as see the mouth of the glacier.

DAY 4: Latrabjarg Cliffs
- Summary
Latrabjarg cliffs is home to an enormous puffin population that nest on the cliffs. We will visit a red sand beach (Raudisandur Beach) and much more.

DAY 5: Dynjandi
- Summary
Here we will be able to get up close and visit the largest waterfall in the Westfjords, have a chance to take a swim in a remote icelandic hot pot and see some old Icelandic farm houses and shipwrecks

DAY 6: Back to Isafjordur

On this day we will pass over beautiful mountain passes that overlook the fjords below and visit Svalvogar before we make our way back to Isafjordur.
